Xiuqin Xiong is a “Hongshen Qihang Scholar” at Chongqing University and an Associate Professor in the School of Public Administration. She previously worked as a Research Fellow at the Health Policy Centre, the University of Melbourne.
She completed her undergraduate studies in Preventive Medicine at the School of Public Health, Peking University, and obtained a dual degree in Economics from the National School of Development, Peking University. In 2019, she received a Master of Public Health from Peking University and was awarded the “Outstanding Graduate of Peking University.” She completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2024.
Her current research focuses on urban health, health policy and health economics, health technology assessment, preference elicitation, and health utility measurement. She has extensive experience in quantitative research, with particular expertise in decision modelling for economic evaluation and the use of discrete choice experiments to elicit patient and public preferences, providing evidence to inform health policy and healthcare interventions.
Her research has been published in leading journals in health economics and medicine, including Value in Health, PharmacoEconomics, and Neurology. She also serves as a reviewer for several international journals, such as Value in Health, PharmacoEconomics, and Quality of Life Research. She received the 2022 Outstanding Article Award from the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL).
